This exhibit demonstrates the relationship between power
generation and consumption. A small electric motor is
attached to a crank and serves as a generator. Three
light bulbs of increasing sizes can be selected by pressing
on its corresponding button. The exhibit user cranks
the generator while pressing down one of the buttons
to light up a light bulb. The bigger the light bulb,
the harder it will be to crank the generator. It will
also be hard to crank up if two or more light bulbs
are presses at the same time. By experience, the user
will gain understanding that the more power is used,
the more resources are also needed to supply it and
hence the importance of power consumption in our daily
lives.
