Generator consists of a U-shaped magnet that is free to rotate above a coil of wire. Children can turn the crank attached to the magnet and watch the electric gauge indicate that electricity is generated. This exhibit demonstrates one of the fundamental principles of electricity and magnetism, that movement between a conductor and an magnetic field, induces electricity to flow on the conductor, similar to a paddle wheel moving the water on a channel.
